Welcome to the Secondary School section of the St. Stephen’s International School, Bangkok campus, website. I hope that you find it informative and interesting.
We are a relatively small and very inclusive school. Everybody knows everybody. A very high proportion of students are involved in activities such as sport and drama. Many events include every student. We are also large enough to offer a wide range of academic subjects and extracurricular activities.
The Secondary School caters for students aged 11 to 18, in Years 7 to 13 of the English system. The school is divided into three sections, each led by a Key Stage Manager assisted by Form Tutors. These are Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9) for students aged 11 to 14, Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) for students aged 14 to 16 and Key Stage 5 (Years 12 and 13) for students aged 16 to 18.
All students follow the same broad curriculum in Key Stage 3. There is some choice of subjects from the 17 we offer for IGCSE in Key Stage 4. Students have complete freedom of choice of subjects for A Level in Key Stage 5. At all levels subjects are taught by native English speaking specialist subject teachers. Despite being academically non-selective our examination results at IGCSE and A Level compare very favourably with any other international school. Every year our students win national prizes for their examination performances.
We expect all students to be involved in the extra-curricular life of the school. All students should be able to find activities of interest given the wide range on offer. We are very active in the areas of sport and music but also provide many other opportunities including subject related clubs, Model United Nations, the International Award, drama, chess, cooking and an eco schools club.
We are a very open school and I am very happy to meet prospective parents at any time.
