FOBISIA Primary Games

May 23 2017

It was a successful Primary Games in Malaysia, with 18 pupils attending, three of whom were from our Khao Yai campus. There was also a very good turnout of travelling parental support for the team.

Day 1(am): Swimming - 5th place overall, however Tyler and Janjao dominated their events.

Day 1 (pm): Athletics - 4th place overall just missing out on the bronze medal. However, every competitor won at least 1 medal.

We fielded mixed age T-Ball and Football teams, so some of our Year 5 children were competing against older pupils. Even so, our team managed to win the Silver Medal overall in T-Ball on Day 2 of the Games.

Day 3 was the main day for most of the St. Stephen's competitors as it was the Football competition. The girls put in a fabulous performance by winning all their games and finishing in the Gold medal position overall. This was an excellent team performance; however a special mention must go to Sand from Year 5 who scored the most goals in the whole competition.

The boys has a slightly tougher time and competed against some very good teams, but they still managed to win a very respectable bronze medal.

Mr. Paul and Ms. Karen, along with the travelling parental support, were all very proud of what the children achieved and they are certainly a credit to the school and their families.

We have already begun to set our sights for FOBISIA 2018, which will be in Phuket.
