ST.STEPHEN’S offers all students an
international recognised curriculum
that leads to an accredited ST.STEPHEN’S
High School Diploma combined with
the opportunity for IGCSE, AS and
A-Level qualifications in line with
the British examination system.
For all programmes students follow
a compulsory curriculum broadly based
on the National Curriculum
of England and Wales, with
numerous modifications to advance
expectations add greater depth and
breadth.
English is the language of instruction
at ST.STEPHEN’S except for the teaching
of other languages.
The
Thai National Curriculum
provides the foundation and structure
for the teaching of Thai at all levels
and ensures students that may transfer
successfully to and from Thai Schools
and Universities. The high standard
of Maths and Science teaching in Thailand
adds strength to the Curriculum.
Early
and Elementary
The Early Years
programme is for children ages 2+
in Nursery through Year 1.
The goal of this programme is “Learning
to Play” and emphasizes enjoyment
for learning within a structured environment,
with children expected to take basic
leadership roles and responsibilities
from an early ages.
The Elementary Years programme is
for children ages 6+ in Years 2 to
5. The goal of this programme is “Learning
to Learn”, emphasizing enjoyment
for learning through developing good
self-discipline and behaviour, with
extended class leadership roles and
responsibilities. Students are also
given a wide range of opportunities
to experience their topic work first
hand through regular educational visits.
Middle
and Senior Years
The Middle Years
programme is for children ages 10+
in Year 6 to 9. The goal of this
programme is “Learning for Work”,
emphasizing students taking responsibility
for their learning by creating good
study habits needed at high school
level. Students are also encouraged
to lead and support a wide range of
Community Service Programme projects
and initiatives, and to be good ambassadors
for the School.
The Senior Years
programme is for children ages 14+
in year 10 through 13. The goal of
this programme is “Learning
for Life” through the development
of students knowledge and skills for
high academic achievement in their
college or university studies. The
curriculum is designed to allow all
students to elect and accumulate the
credits they require for high school
graduation and application to Thai
and international colleges and universities.
The curriculum follows the Cambridge
IGCSE curriculum for year 10 and 11
students. The Cambridge ‘AS’ and ‘A’
curriculums form the basis for year
12 and year 13 students. These courses
make more academic demands on students
and are important for advanced placement
in colleges and universities.
