Teacher of A Level Psychology

St. Stephen’s International School, Bangkok Campus, is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Psychology Teacher for August 2020, who should also be able to fulfil a learning support or counselling role

At present the school only offers A level Psychology, from the CIE Board, but there may be the opportunity to teach Psychology at IGCSE level in the future. 

As a Learning Support Teacher the successful candidate will also provide Learning Support across the school, both in lessons and through withdrawal. The teacher needs to be a good communicator, acting as a link between parents, teachers, students and external specialists. The teacher is also expected to provide advice for teachers and to work closely with the school’s English Second Language Department. 

It is essential for the successful applicant to:

• Be able to teach Psychology at A level

• Be a native-level English speaker

• Be appropriately qualified (e.g. B.Ed. or a first degree and a PGCE)

• Provide three professional referees, one of whom must be your current, or most recent, Principal

It is desirable for the successful applicant to have experience of:

• Working with children with special needs

• Working as a School Counsellor

St. Stephen’s is located in the north of Bangkok, close to Don Muang Airport and the world famous Chatuchak Market. The school is two-form entry and caters for all ages from Nursery to Year 13.

Successful overseas candidates for teaching posts will normally be offered:

• a two-year contract, renewable by mutual agreement.
