Personal, Social and Health Education in Key Stage 5

PSHE in Years 12 and 13 is focussed mainly on higher education preparation and applications.

Year 12 have weekly International English Language Testing System (IELTS) lessons, as well as AS study and examination target setting, study skills, higher education and careers research lessons. Year 13 spend much PSHE time in Term 1 completing their university applications with weekly one to one meetings with Form Tutors or the Head of Sixth Form.

There is also a series of lessons focussing on interview preparation before a mock university interview with the London based Inspiring Futures organisation in October. Year 13 then complete a course preparing them for university, learning important life skills for independent living. In Term 2 they follow a series of critical thinking lessons designed to sharpen their analytical and evaluative skills. SAT preparation support is offered as needed to all Sixth Form students throughout the year.
