On Friday 25th November, Business Studies students attended the Ocean Marina Boat Show in Pattaya to support and give context to their learning.
It was an action packed day with too many highlights to mention them all individually. Students began the trip by thinking about areas of Marketing that might be seen on a tour of the Boat Show. They then had a tour of the Marina from the Habour Master and he explained how the Marina generates revenue, why they hold the Boat Show and who they are targeting with their various products. Students were also lucky enough to see the boat production facility and noticed that the catamarans being built were an example of Job Production.
The day linked in well with both the Marketing and Production units. The staff at the Boat Show were very knowledgeable about their products and it was a unique opportunity to see ‘behind the scenes’ of a very successful business. The trip ended on a high with an evening sail on a beautiful catamaran. This was the best school trip ever!
St. Stephen’s International School would like to thank Ocean Marina in Pattaya for extending such a warm invitation to our students and we hope to be invited back again next year.
