Year 3 and Year 4 ICP Trip to Cocoa Farm On Monday 2 February Year 3 and Year 4 visited a local cocoa farm as part of their IPC learning about chocolate and production. They learned about the bean-to-bar process and discovered how cocoa beans grow inside large pods on cacao trees. During the visit, students explored the fruit farm and saw where cocoa trees are grown. They observed the stages of chocolate making, including harvesting, fermenting, drying, roasting, and grinding the beans. The children then had the exciting opportunity to make their own chocolate bars. They mixed ingredients and shaped their bars, helping them understand how raw cocoa becomes chocolate we can eat. This trip helped students understand where chocolate comes from and how farmers and factories work together to make products we enjoy. It was a fun and educational experience that linked perfectly with our IPC topic.
