Year 8 Learn about Food Testing

Year 8 Science students tested a variety of food items to see what macro-nutrients they contain. They investigated the nutrients in bread, almonds, peanuts, cashews, butter, egg, flour, milk, and rice. The students practised their lab skills by using iodine solution, biuret solution, and absorbent paper to test for starch, protein, and fat, respectively. The students worked well together in groups of three, sharing responsibility for lab success by managing time and resources. Well done Year 8.
