Remembrance Commemoration

Nov 10 2020

St. Stephen's students attended the annual Remembrance Commemoration at the British Club; more poignant than for many years, as this is the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two. Also known as Armistice Day as it marks the day World War One ended at 11.00 on 11 November 1918, in modern times the Commemoration is important as it enables people around the world to come together to remember the many sacrifices, not just the loss of life, that all 'casualties' of war experience. Yr 13. students, Pep and Oui Pern laid a wreath of poppies at the cenotaph on behalf of all members of our school community. There will be a minute's silence in school this Wednesday at 11.00 as a mark of reflection and respect.
